Whether you truly want to learn to cook or just want an excuse to gather your friends
to eat and drink, cooking classes can be a fun alternative to a sit-down dinner party.
Cooking classes can be demonstration only (I do all the prep and cooking and explain the process while
guests look on) or it can be interactive (everyone gets involved). For interactive classes, guests can get as involved as
they want--or not at all. Some guests prefer to work on their margaritas
as they watch, and that is perfectly fine. This can be a learning experience or a purely fun one. It's up to you and your
guests.
As with my other services, I do all the shopping, come to your home, set up, do prep work, and clean
up afterwards.
Fee
The fee for a cooking class is $50 per person, $250 minimum, plus cost of food
and wine (and travel tolls and parking fees, if applicable)
The menu can be one that I put together for you or you can make your own. It can be up to 6 items (for
example, an appetizer, a first plate, a main course with 2 sides, and dessert).
Party Ideas
Bored with the same old dinner parties? How about a cooking class based on one
of these ideas?
- Cocktail parties (Ex:
3 appetizers and 3 exotic drink recipes)
- Theme parties (Hawaiian
luau, Halloween, Pasta-making, Mardi Gras)
- Ethnic cuisines (Italian,
Pan-Asian, South American, Indian)
- Kids parties (Let the
kids do all the cooking)
- Wine pairings (Choose
your wines--I will find the perfect edible
companions for them.)
- Dessert parties (6 different kinds
of dessert? Heaven!)
- Cheese-tasting (Choose several cheeses. Taste them fresh
and then make a meal with them.)
